Psalm 58

     Human rulers, acting like gods, do you speak justice and pursue what is right? No, you have devious hearts and you promote violence throughout the earth. From the time of your birth you rebel against God with poisonous deceit. You press your hands against your ears, refusing to hear either righteous argument or God’s judgments against you.

     O God, deal with them firmly. I would like to see them suffer for the harm they cause. I want to see you take vengeance upon them, bringing their evil schemes to a violent end. I want to hear men say, “Truly, those to whom God gives his righteousness are blessed. He is God who executes righteous judgment against evildoers.”
