Psalm 65

As I look back over the year I see you crowned it with your goodness. You care about me and you care for me. I join the valleys and streams to declare my joy in you!

I lift up my praise to you, O God, and will fulfill the vows I make to you. My sinfulness overwhelms me; I am totally unable to conquer it. You hear my prayer and forgive my transgressions! I am greatly blessed to be one you have chosen and brought near to fill me with the good things your presence provides.

You are the Sovereign Creator, the God of our deliverance. You formed the stable mountains by your power and you control the chaos of the seas. You are the refuge of all mankind, saving us and answering our prayers with awesome deeds of righteousness.

Your domain is universal especially since Jesus Christ has broken down the dividing wall between Jews and Gentiles. In the midst of strife men fear being reminded that you are in control. Their rejection of you causes turmoil in the world.

We have been experiencing a severe drought for many months and today you have demonstrated your ability to care for the land and water it. Thank you for replenishing our streams so the banks run full!

As we near the end of this year we find you crowning it with your goodness. You care about us and you care for us. We join the valleys and streams to declare our joy in you!
