Psalm 78:1-51

Listen to me; I have important things to say – things learned from my parents and grandparents, things revealed to me in the pages of God’s Word. I must speak; I cannot hide these truths from my children and grandchildren. This is why I have sought to teach them, live a faithful life before them and marked a Bible for each of them with highlighting and margin messages – to encourage their love for God and his Word!

God commanded us to teach our children and we deeply desire to do so. We want the next generations to know God and his Word, so they in turn will tell their children then they will put their trust in God and be inspired to love and serve him faithfully.

O, may our progeny not be like those of the stubborn and rebellious generations whose hearts were not loyal to God, whose spirits were not faithful to him. Many of God’s beloved people turned against him in outright rebellion. Forgetting the amazing miracles he had done on their behalf, they became demanding, refusing to believe in God or trust in his deliverance.

He continued to provide for them and still they rebelled against him. When he judged their rebellion fiercely, even with death, they turned to him again, remembering that Elohim was El Elyon, God Most High, their Redeemer. Then they praised him with their mouths but their hearts remained proud and rebellious. They did not remember his power demonstrated on their behalf in the plagues and the miracles that effected their release from bondage in Egypt and promoted them to freedom in Canaan.

What a sad commentary! Indeed I pray my progeny will heed the call of God, trust his truth, love him, serve him faithfully and carry his truth to the rest of the world!
