Psalm 83

Do not remain silent and still, O God, in the face of the noisy uproar your enemies make as they consult together against your people. Those who hate you exalt themselves; they are cunning in their plans to destroy those you love. The surrounding nations have formed a covenant of hatred for you and your cherished people that lasts to this very day. (That stops me in my tracks since the dividing wall between Jew and Gentile was removed by Christ and that long-lasting hatred now extends to us as well.)

You have successfully vanquished your enemies on every hand. We trust you to do so again, making them as unstable as tumbleweeds in the desert wind. Pursue them with your tempest, Lord; terrify them with your wrath. May the end result be their acknowledgement of you, turning to you in worship! You alone are El Elyon, God Most High over all the earth. One day every knee will bow and every tongue confess that you are Lord!
