Psalm 138

I thank you, O Lord, with all my heart and give praise to you ahead of anything else I might be tempted to worship in my life. I bow low in gratitude for your constant presence, your loyal covenant love and your trustworthy faithfulness. You have seen to the exaltation of your authority and your Word. When I cry out you attend to me, making me bold with strength in my soul.

All kings will one day acknowledge your authority when every knee bows and every tongue confesses that Jesus Christ is Lord. Though you reign on high, you are near to the lowly and humble to provide for them. But you keep the arrogant and proud far away from you.

When you assign distress and trouble to me you keep me whole, stretching out your hand to deliver me from my enemies. You give me deep confidence that you will fulfill your purpose for me, O Blessed Controller of all things. I know your loyal covenant love endures forever and you will never forsake me, the work of your hands.
